When browsing the internet, most data that is sent is un-encrypted, and thus unsecured.
These websites are accessed through http://www.example.com.

Secure websites, that encrypt all outgoing and incoming data, will have a link that starts with https:// e.g. https://www.example.com.

Carerix offers this option as well:

For more secure browsing, when typing the address of your Carerix application in your browser, use https://COMPANYNAME.carerix.net instead of http://COMPANYNAME.carerix.net

To let you know that you are using a secure connection, Chrome will show a green lock icon in your URL bar, and the word 'Secure'.

Setting "httpsRequired"

To make sure that you always browse securely, without having to type https:// every time you open up your Carerix application, you can set your application to a default https:// connection.

The Administrator can set this up by taking the following steps:

  • Go to the 'Maintenance' |  'Settings'
  • Go to Block "General
  • There is an Setting called "httpsRequired', which can be set to "YES"

This will allow the application to go to https:// automatically, and your data traffic to be more secure.

TLS in the browser

For use with Carerix we will only support browsers that include TLS version 1.2 or higher.
